Movement opposing Gram Nyayalaya

Civil Court Bar Association Azamgarh strongly opposes the Gram Nyayalaya to be established in the state under the Gram Nyayalaya Act 2012. This system is not appropriate for the advocate community and litigants from anywhere. While litigants are unable to get justice in civil courts because all the courts located in the state have a complete lack of judicial officers, employees and other essential facilities, despite this, due to the sharing of money and corruption, the government has established Gram Nyayalaya in the state, due to which not only the litigants are troubled but the advocate community has also been forced to wander.

In view of this, a movement was carried out on February 1, 2024 under the leadership of Civil Court Bar Association Azamgarh, in which advocates and their representatives from most of the districts across the state participated and collectively opposed the Gram Nyayalaya. Along with this, a demand was also made to the state government that the state-wide problem of Gram Nyayalaya should be resolved as soon as possible, otherwise in the coming days, the advocate community across the state will be forced to agitate.

In this context, the Association’s Minister, Mr. Anand Shrivastav, sought a meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister. A five-member delegation led by the Union’s President, Mr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, presented their concerns. The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured them that the issue would be resolved soon. The delegation included the Association’s former President Mr. Subedar Yadav, Joint Secretary Mr. Ram Narayan Rai, and Senior Vice President Mr. Saif Umar Khan.
